Since our founding in Kyoto, Shihoen has been working to connect people with scenery, and people with time, through garden creation. From landscape design and construction to green space management and tree health assessments by arborists, we tackle all garden-related issues and place great importance on creating landscapes that make the most of the changing seasons.
A garden is not something that is completed, but rather a landscape for the people who live there and spend time there. Rather than simply arranging stones and trees, we aim to create a garden where life and nature resonate. We respect traditional techniques and create gardens that will be passed down to the future. This is the vision of Shihoen.

We hope to connect Kyoto's gardening culture with everyday life and create gardens that can be passed down to future generations.
We handle a wide range of gardens, from traditional Japanese gardens to Western gardens, passing on time-honored techniques to the future. We can handle projects for national and local governments, overseas projects, and even private homes.
Rather than a one-time installation, we value protecting and nurturing rooted plants in a healthy state. Through long-term relationships, we will build on the skills and dedication we've honed in Kyoto.
